Saturday, January 12, 10am:
TRUMPETER SWAN WALK,Hudson Area Library, sponsored by Dough Boys Pizza in partnership with Friends of the Library. Learn about the swans that spend the winter in Hudson—then walk to see them with local swan expert Barry Wallace. Free workshop but seating is limited so pre-registration is encouraged. .
January 12--February 23:

CHILDREN’S COLORING AFFAIR coordinated by St. Croix Valley YMCA, Associated Bank-Hudson and Hudson Star-Observer. Children’s pictures will be on display at YMCA and Associated Bank locations throughout Hot Air Affair.
Saturday, January 19, 10 am-2 pm:
COUNT DOWN EVENT at Family Fresh Market. Food sampling and musical entertainment. Register to win prizes, including a balloon ride in Airganic Garden hot air balloon during HAA 2013.
Saturday, January 19, 4-8 pm: :
CANDLELIGHT HIKE AND SKI, YMCA , Camp St. Croix, sponsored by PCK Foundation and Valley Agencies—Dennis Lee. Candle-lit trails for cross-country skiing and hiking along with trail side fires for quick warm ups. Come see a hot air balloon. Learn about owls. Complimentary refreshments hosted by Art Doyle’s Spokes & Pedals. Free admission, no advanced registration required.

HUDSON HOT AIR AFFAIR ANNUAL COUNT DOWN KICK-OFF, Dick’s Bar & Grill. Come celebrate the Majestic Flyway with costumes, prizes & trivia games. Enjoy an evening with friends at one of the Hot Air Affair’s Charter Sponsors—24 years of FUN!

FAMILY DAY ACTIVITY, The Phipps Center for the Arts, sponsored by Eckberg Lammers. Family members of all ages will create a theme masterpiece and then march behind “The Phipps is for Kids” banner in the “2013 Majestic Flyway” Torchlight Parade on Feb. 1. Parade participants line up at 6 pm at Wells Fargo Bank parking lot and parade travels down Second Street. Prizes in each category. 1:00 pm: SMOOSH BOARD COMPETITION, E.P. Rock school grounds. Hot Air Affair’s wackiest winter sport with 4 people on the same smoosh boards. Call 381-5020 for team registration, $10 per team. Prizes for best team in competition plus best “Majestic Flyway” costumes. Smoosh boards available.
1:00 pm: : ICE CARVING, sponsored by La Petite Dentistry, E.P. Rock school grounds. Watch the skills of a professional award-winning ice carver bring a big block of ice to life in front of your eyes. Meet “Pete” the Shark. .
1:00-3:00 pm: CRAFTS FOR KIDS “Majestic Flyway”, sponsored by Associated Bank at E.P. Rock School Marketplace. Kids join in making free crafts.
2 pm: THE RAPTOR CENTER FROM THE UNIVERSITY OF MINNESOTA E.P. Rock School, brings 4 raptors to Hudson’s “Majestic Flyway”, including an American Bald Eagle. Raptor education program plus Native American dancing by St. Croix Dance Troupe.
3:00 pm: BALLOON LAUNCH, E.P. Rock school grounds. Optional flight if morning flight launched. Mass ascension if morning flight was canceled.
6:30 pm: HOT AIR BALLOON MOON GLOW OR FIELD OF FIRE, E.P. Rock school grounds. Hot air balloons light up the dark so bring your camera for this spectacular event! In case of windy weather, Moon Glow becomes a Field of Fire.
