The Hudson Hot Air Affair is
the premier winter ballooning
event and winter festival in the
Midwest. Thousands of visitors
head to the St. Croix Valley in
west central Wisconsin on the
first full weekend in February.

Ideal conditions:
–Light winds less than 6 mph
–Good visibility
–Sunshine or if cloudy,
high cloud ceilings
Unfavorable conditions:
–Too strong wind, over
8 mph OR no wind at all
–Poor visibility or
low cloud ceilings
–Snow or rain
